companies, empowering people to do amazing things and much more. All these successful people are a clear example showing us that getting
good marks and a college degree does not guarantee success in our life. Hard
work is necessary but to reach the top “Do something Different”.
Bill Gates, Co-founder of Microsoft is one of the most famous
entrepreneurs without a college degree. He studied at Harvard
University in 1973 but left Harvard University out two years later in 1975 and
founded Microsoft. Harvard eventually awarded an honorary doctorate to Gates though he never
completed his bachelor's degree he is providing jobs to millions of people and providing
the most modern successful technology to the people around the world. Steve Jobs, Founder of Apple is
another one of the most recognised billionaires in the world without a college
degree. Steve Jobs had shown us that we don't need a college degree
to start a great company. Steve Jobs had to be bribed by his teacher to finish
his workbook in his fourth-grade class.

Jobs realised that it was not his thing and he does not want his parents to
spend so much money on his studies that
seemed meaningless to him. 
Rabindra Nath
Tagore was one
of the greatest entities of all time and the only Indian to receive a Nobel
Prize. Despite being born in an educated family, Rabindra
Nath Tagore was homeschooled and did not attend school. Tagore went to the University of
London in Bridgton, England, to study law but he
returned home in two years but without a degree. Though Tagore did not go to
school he was a book lover and enjoy writing poem, songs and plays. Tagore was
shy to reveal his writings in his notebooks to others. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook is also a college dropped out but he always emphasised that his study materials during his college
days helped him to succeed in creating Facebook which turned into a big
international business. Mark Zuckerberg dropped out from college as he had to
focus on creating and make Facebook for his college dorm
which became a big success and turned into a big international business. Zuckerberg received an honorary degree from Harvard University in
Cambridge, Massachusetts on 28th May, 2017.
William
Shakespeare is
the most influential writer in the English language and
the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent
dramatist. He was an English playwright, poet and actor and his plays have been
translated into every major living language. No specific records in school relating to the education of William Shakespeare or
his attendance at school is available. Most
biographers believe that Shakespeare was probably educated at the King's New
School in Stratford at
the age of 7 in 1571 and left school and formal education when he was fourteen
in 1578. At the age of 18,
Shakespeare married 26-year-old Anne Hathaway and it is believed
that William Shakespeare is the most influential
writer in the English language without a degree from any university. Branson is another
most famous successful people without a college degree and Branson
was born with dyslexia, so his entire school life was very poor. Years later he
became a small business hunter and is a great example of how to get success in
life without studies. During his early days he left his studies to create a
music record company and named it Virgin, on a street in London. Virgin became a
non-profit company and helps entrepreneurs across the UK to start, fund
and scale their business. In 2016, it was awarded European Regional Development
Funding.
Henry Ford, Founder of the
Ford Motor Company finished eighth grade at a one room school, Springwells
Middle School. He never attended high school but later took a bookkeeping
course at a commercial school. Ford left home at the age of sixteen to work in Detroit. Ford began
repairing and later constructing engines, and through the 1890s worked with a
division of Edison Electric. He officially founded Ford Motor Company in 1903, after
prior failures in business but success in constructing automobiles. Michael Dell, CEO of Dell Technologies drop out from the University of
Texas at Austin only during his first year to run PC's Limited, which later
changed its name to the well-known brand Dell Inc, a company that became the
number one seller of personal computers in the world. Jack Dorsey,
CEO of Twitter left the Missouri University of Science and Technology after attending
university in 1995 for two years which is one semester short of graduating before
transferring to New York University in 1997 to start Twitter. Dorsey attended Bishop
DuBourg High School and he worked occasionally as a fashion model. He created
Twitter while studying at New York University. Larry
Ellison, Co-founder
of Oracle Corporation left University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign during
his second year. He subsequently enrolled at the University of Chicago, but
dropped out again after only one semester. Ellison became an an
American business magnate and investor. He is the co-founder, executive
chairman, chief technology officer (CTO) and former chief executive officer
(CEO) of the American computer technology company Oracle Corporation. As of
February 2023, he was listed by Bloomberg Billionaires Index as the
sixth-wealthiest person in the world, with an estimated fortune of $102.6
billion.
Gautam Shantilal Adani is an Indian billionaire industrialist and is the
founder and chairman of Adani Group, a multinational conglomerate involved in
port development and operations in India. He was educated at Sheth Chimanlal
Nagindas Vidyalaya school in Ahmedabad. He enrolled for a bachelor's degree in
commerce at Gujarat University, but dropped out after the second year. Adani started
his own business as he was not interested in his father's textile business. Jan Koum the Co-founder of WhatsApp which is one of the most popular
instant messaging platforms in the world. He began his studies at San José
State University, simultaneously started learning programming and but soon
dropped out of college after David File, a Co-Founder at Yahoo, convinced him
to work for him. Before launching WhatsApp, he tried to get a position on Facebook and
Twitter but got rejected by both. Walt Disney, Co-founder of Walt Disney Company is another one of the most admired
non-university successful people in the world. Walt Disney wanted to
fight the first world war but got rejected as he was a minor aged sixteen only.
He started producing cartoon with his brother also produced the famous cartoon
character of Mickey Mouse and made many famous movies.
